Brittney graduated from the school of engineering at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Science in construction management, specialization in land surveying, and a minor in business administration. While she was in school, she was the president of Land Surveyors Club and Treasurer of Constructors Club. She has experience with computer aided design ever since she was the president of CAD club during her years at William Fremd High School. Brittney filled her summers with internships at LSSI, civil engineering, and subsurface utility engineering/land surveying firms.

In 2023 Brittney earned her Professional Land Surveyors license with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. She is now working on her Illinois Professional Land Surveyor license.

Brittney has been awarded a handful of scholarships and notable recognitions including Illinois Professional Land Surveyor’s Association Little Egyptian Chapter Scholarship, AGC Education and Research Foundation, Women in Building, Western Specialty Contractor, Sherrill Family, Architecture Construction Engineering Mentorship, and Robert Colney Scholarship.

Elizabeth Retzer

Field Manager/ Head Crew Chief

Elizabeth began her surveying career in 1999 as a field rod person. At that time her love for surveying came to be. Elizabeth decided at that moment she wanted to learn as much as possible within the surveying industry. She took an array of surveying classes and worked closely aside her field chief studying every technique. In just a few short years Elizabeth was able to run her own crew in the field.

In 2002, a new era of survey technology rose and so did Elizabeth’s career with Land Surveying Services, Inc. Elizabeth saw the opportunity to take advantage of the latest field equipment and maximize accuracy and time efficiency. She soon was running as a solo crew using GPS and a robotic total station. No job was ever too difficult for Elizabeth and she soon became an expert in construction layouts as well.

As the years went on Elizabeth didn’t want to stop at her extensive knowledge in the field; she wanted to expand to the office side of surveying. Elizabeth started to manage and schedule all the field crews and jobs. While working in the office she was able to learn how to draft in AutoCAD. Elizabeth became responsible for reviewing all construction plans and calculating the coordinates for the field crews to layout.

Elizabeth oversees all the day to day field work and drafting load in the office. With Elizabeth’s expertise working in the field, she assists bidding on new potential jobs giving clients the best competitive prices. Elizabeth prides herself on being a timely and organized person dedicated to doing what is needed at Land Surveying Services, Inc.
